- DO change your equipment's oil at a minimum once per season. Be sure
to recycle the old oil.
- DO use a stabilizer in your fuel can. “Sta-bil” brand may be found
at any auto parts store. This will keep your fuel fresh and prevent
fouling in the carburetor.
- DO clean the under side of your mower deck after use. With the mower
shut off you may tip the deck up slightly and hose off under it. This
will make for more efficient cutting and preserve the life of the blade
edge and premature deck rusting. Be careful never to get water near
the engine air filter, oil or fuel fill areas.
- DO replace the spark plug and air filter, and check for proper carburetor
adjustment ... a properly tuned engine helps burn fuel more efficiently,
thereby reducing emissions.
- DO avoid gasoline spillage when you're refilling the tank. Also, keep
fuel tanks and containers sealed tight, leaving room (approx. 3/4 full)
for expansion.
- DO NOT store your equipment exposed to the weather for ANY period
of time.
- DO NOT ever tip your mower more than 45 degrees. Doing so may foul
the engine with oil.
- DO NOT leave fuel in the gas tank for long periods of time.
